The Motivation for Governance, Economy, and Society Is Not Irrelevant: Ego or Heart

I ask my Heart how to apply Spirit wisdom to a few news items I have seen over the last week: 1. George Gillette signing away Indigenous lands in 1948 under threat of death to his people and affiliated tribes in North Dakota of the Mandan, Arikara, and Hidatsu. Associated with this is the federal government’s recent efforts to effect the dishonorable disestablishment of the Mashpee Wampanoag’s tribal status. It’s unconscionable, and I rarely say this anymore, it’s wrong. (This current president and his appointee for Department of the Interior are responsible for this selfish, baseless travesty.) 2. The murder of Ahmaud Arbery by two vigilante egomaniacs, devoid of love, light, or reason at the time of their crime.

Well, that is a civil and more Heart-centered start because I literally had to delete words and revise. Many times it would be difficult to detect if most acts of any of us emanate from the energy of Heart or Ego, and it’s neither necessary nor profitable to pursue analyzing everything we do. However, when it comes to humanity and the collective energies being displayed therein, evaluation of courses of action may yield insight and guidance.

Hatred lies at the base of the actions mentioned above. I do not want to complicate this with a historical review that can be…
