The Gazebo Fountain Artist: a Shaman’s Perspective

The young man who I reference in my poem is the grown son of friends of mine. I was fortunate enough to be at the man’s gallery showing. I am more fortunate I know the family.

Why is this a blessing? I will leave it in all simplicity by saying they engage in life for the reasons we all come here — to find joy in who we are and what we have and to make deliberate choices to enjoy and make meaning of life.

A Fountain of Heart

The Gazebo Fountain painting expresses

Profound truths;

Artistic expression of passion, of desire to share that passion and

Work of Self with others, to share deeply-sensed

Connections of humans and waters and fountain forms —

To share Love.

I assure you an ego-evaluation of this painting would not

Rank it as the work of a master.

Art critics would discus the elements of

Brush-strokes, forms depicted, their

Relationships to one another,

Perspectives. I could do so, too, but from another

Energy source: Heart.

The Artist need not understand any of this. In fact,

He probably cannot. The reason why does not

Matter. He expressed his

Passion in sincerity as himself.

That is Love.

That is Truth.

That is Beauty.
