I read nature in a very similar manner to the way I read oracle cards. Different animals, plants, and aspects of the Elements all have their unique expression of Spirit, and as such, they are spirits who connect with me and you when we explore and seek help, especially on our healing journeys.

Some offer their energies in special ways, mystical ways, spiritual ways. Some folks hold to the theory of if they can’t see it, they won’t believe it. It’s very challenging to engage in a healing journey when holding such a belief.

Why? The traumas, hurts, and wounds of life are, by and large, not visible. Conditions like depression, codependency, and many more (just look in the latest version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders!) affect almost all of us. Even though many of us would not be considered diagnosable, we still know many of those pains — can’t see them but they affect us. (By the way, I don’t think everything is a disorder. Sometimes, conditions — like ADD — are of great benefit when I allow Heart energy to help me reframe such forces.) Therefore, why not consider that other invisible energies exist that may help us heal?

The energies of life, of unique Spirit expression, surround us. Shamans, along with many other mystical type people…
