Over the next few weeks, I am going to share the sections and chapters of my second book, which will be published sometime within the next year. If you are interested, read it here on Medium, but revisions will take place after professional editing and before final publication.

Preface

Some would tell me — on both sides of the racial issue of which I write — that I have no business, no stake, no experiential right to take a stand, to consider publicly these issues. They would be correct in some ways; they would be wrong in the most essential, for I am human, and I have my stories, as each of us does. As Martin Luther King did. As Maya Angelou did.

I began evolving in consciousness during the age of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Brown v. Topeka Board of Education was decided the year I was born. I heard the news…
