Reconcile Self to Self, Spirit to Body

Earlier, I wrote about reconciling polarities of the material and spiritual aspects of existence. Do you know we come equipped with polarities? It’s like we have two operating systems that seem to clash until we find a way to integrate them.

We have the Ego operating system, and we have the Heart operating system. Kind of like a PC and Mac mashup. I would like to share something that I have come to understand: Ego helps us immensely when we first arrive on this scene. We let others know when we need to be cleaned, when we are hungry, when they do things pleasing to us — very useful stuff all that crying and smiling of the Ego operating system.

And when we are tiny, we know how Heart operating system works, too. We reach out in wonder and curiosity for those bright, bold colors and find delight at the flitting butterflies and laugh at silly faces people make at us. Sometimes, we even recognize, speak to, and reach for the spirits of those who have passed from their bodily existence. (Some awesome videos of this are out there in internet land.)
